SICEET is an association from Toribio, Cauca, that has indigenous roots. It is conformed by 218 members; where the core value is striving for specialty coffee whilst taking care of nature.

In July 2011 the organisation was created as a result of a coffee growers’ assembly at Tacueyo.

The organisation has a regulation and is under the legal roof of the NASA project and under the direction and support of the environmental economic councils of each reserve.

The aim of the organization is that the coffee growers associate, produce high quality coffee and improve the commercialisation of the product.

SICEET will be a regionally positioned association in the production and sale of high-quality coffee, with added value and in constant harmony with the environment.

The main objective of SICEET is the strengthening of the local and personal economy, seeking to ensure a decent livelihood for their families, in balance and harmony with Mother Nature.

At the end of 2019, SICEET members have a diversified agroforestry system, based on their own and external knowledge, practices and technologies, which guarantees their food autonomy and an adequate nutritional balance.

In December 2019, 30% of the associates have achieved a quality level of 85 points in cup and have verification in different certifications, keeping the process in harmony with the environment.

The coffees are pulped on the farm in a traditional beneficio on small pulping machines before then being dry fermented in tiled tanks overnight for 12-16 hours. After this the coffees are then dried for 7- 10 days in parabolic tents on raised beds.

As an association, it has already held three fairs of special coffees in Toribio.

There are 55 certified coffee growers under the rainforest Alliance seal and 136 in the 4c seal process. There are 218 members of the organisation. The goal is to reach 500 members.

There are 45 coffee growers from Tacueyo and 37 from Toribio and San Francisco trained as technicians in the coffee area.
